WAKEBOARD
“My Contour ROAM3 couldn’t be a better accessory to my riding! It’s easy to use and capable of capturing clips at the drop of a hat due to its simple and easy-to-operate functions. I recommend accompanying your riding with one of these any day of the week.”
Marc Rossiter
Wakeboard champion

1RECOMMENDED CAMERA

Before heading to the lake, or ditch as wakeboarding can be done in some pretty crazy locations these days, a good camera to capture these moments would be the following:

With the all new Roam 3 being capable of staying dry down at an impressive 30ft after being taken straight out of the box, when your anywhere near water then this is the camera for you! Whether you plan to ride along next to your mate capturing footage with the Roam 3 on a pole and fight off the spray, or whether you’re attaching it to you board for some up close and personal shots most likely resulting in full submersion, the Roam 3 will not disappoint and will be able to assist you in fighting off any water that is trying to stop you from getting the shot you want!

2BEING READY FOR THE SHOT/MOUNTS

Anyone can buy a new camera to point and shoot something, but those who already have knowledge and an idea of what they’re after are usually the ones who get the great shots.
PRIMARY MOUNTS
POLE MOUNT
WHY?
There’s nothing better than an up-close and personal vid/pic of someone doing a cool trick from a new perspective. The pole mount allows you to get the camera nice and close to the rider without getting in their way.

SURFBOARD MOUNT
WHY?
These mounts can be a great use when getting the riders perspective. Chopping together an edit with a couple of these clips in-between your main shots captured with the pole mount will give it a much more interesting feel and break up any repetitive feel that it may have.

EXAMPLES
A
Try fixing a profile mount to the side of your helmet. This will allow whoever is watching your edit to see what you see. Put your friends in your shoes, and let them see how crazy you really are!

B
Attach the surfboard mount to the front or back of your board. By fixing your camera to your board, you can capture a completely different perspective of the action and make some great filler clips. Be sure to use the laser level once it’s attached to see your camera angle. The laser level will eradicate any missed shots because your camera is pointing down at the water or up at the sky, instead of where you’re going.

3VIEWING YOUR MASTERPIECE/SOFTWARE

Once you have all these clips logged of you and your buddies, you’re gonna want to check them out, and it couldn’t be easier!

HOW?
Plug your camera into your computer using the same USB cord you charge it with. Once you’ve done this a window will pop up reading “Contour Roam3″ This is where you view your clips.

Once you’ve sifted through and picked out your best clips its time to have a go at editing. Any video editing software can be used to put together a great edit with footage taken by Contour, obviously the more complex the program the better your footage will come across due to effects, but the harder it may be to get the result. I have listed a few recommendations below that have worked great in the past:
