This is the latest mod with hot glue to seams. All seams caulked in this video. 65 Let me know if you think the wind noise is reduced from the prior few wind noise caulk tests, thanks Steve Astorinowww.usmotorcycletouring.comsteve@usmotorcycletouring.com

Thanks and yes the wind noise is a problem with this camera and the use of helmet mounted MC riding. The company is working on it. This video was shot with the earlier model 720p. The newer 1080P has updated firmware and file settings which can be adjusted via easy edit software or by opening the txt file. You can set the lighting conditions, preset both high and low switch setting so you can change on the fly, and you can adjust the mic control and other things. Ive sealed all seams on my three cameras with hotglue and adjusted the mic down to 13. Mostly I have to make adjustments in software editing, I use Final Cut Studio Pro on and Apple. Still toying around with it. You can view my latest videos on Facebook or my website www.usmotorcycletouring.com Sorry for the delay I did not see your comment before the Rolling Thunder ride. If you can, post a link here or message me with a link so I can see your videos of the ride. Its a great camera and the company I believe is addressing the concerns of the wind noise in future releases. Hope this helped, Steve

My nighttime tests in low light were dark. Daytime color and lighting is brilliant and steady in light change conditions, like riding into the sun then turning away. I like the helmet mount due to what I look at it looks at. This was taken from a 720p without the upgraded firmware which is available and addresses wind noise, or the ability to adjust the mic with software. I did many tests with several 720s to reduce wind noise with some real good success. Problem is without the new firmware, which I have not tested much yet, wind bleeds through all the seams of the case, so even blocking the mic hole was not enough. But some hot glue and sealing most seams plus blocking the mic hole with velcro, it was great and still could hear me narrate, bike rumble, then later you can add music or other narration during edit. The new 1080s are great, I have a couple so I mount one on my helmet, one on my handlebar or crash guard and one 720 facing back from my tourpack and can edit all three. I use Final Cut but Im new to it and it is not an easy to learn without a lot of reading program. I will find time and post some fresh videos soon. Overall, I have tested three pov cameras and the VholdR ContourHD is best overall in my opinion. widest angle 135, clearest picture, self contained. Only drawback I feel is the inability to keep constant power to the unit while on long rides avoiding the need to change the batteries on gas stops. With three cameras, it takes some time but the self contained and clear picture and micro sd outweighs this short fall IMHO.. Great Camera I think youll like it, Ride safeSteveSteve Astorinowww.usmotorcycletouring.comsteve@usmotorcycletouring.com

OK, so here is the deal.Ive been testing another camera for the past couple weeks, also been working with some software programs, which all are pretty hard to use or not very good and have reached a frustration point with them. Bottom Line, for the type of camera I am looking for, this Contour HD is hands down a product that deliveres professional quality video while on the move even at high speeds and bumpy roads with the most realistic view that can represent the feeling of being on a touring motorcycle.Went to the Apple store and put up the ContourHD video and the exact same route video shot on another camera side by side on a 24 monitor and ran them. No contest. So I just ordered a new Macbook Pro 17 with extra TB storage, 7200rpm drive and Final Cut Studio 2 full version. Now there is no excues that I can think of for not producing some great videos. I still would like to have some assistance from Tech Support to work out some solutions with charging on the fly while recording and develop some type of lens protector clear to use while recording. Will post something soon as quickly as the computer, software and a new CountourHD can arrive. Thanks Tia, Tony and everybody involved, I look forward to capturing some great digital video and producing some cool clips as soon as I can figure it all out.Steve Astorinowww.usmotorcycletouring.comsteve@usmotorcycletouring.com

This is a GREAT camera and concept, no moving parts, SD MiniMicro Chips, will soon charge and video at same time but sadly I have had to make the decision to return it and await for a next generation that will allow charging without drilling a hole in the back door flap to allow the mini usb cable to charge without exposing the entire back of the camera, allowing in elements, moisture etc and did not want to wrap a plastic bag and rubber band around my brand new camera. I suspect that with a little time and attention to some very constructive comments us users have submitted via the forums, emails and phone calls, some changes will be made to make this great camera even better and usable for multiple disciplines. I look forward to buying that generation model. Please move the Mini USB in to another location with its own swing open door so if chosen to use as a charging unit while video capturing this can be accomplished more securely and easily. Thanks to all on board and those in the company for all your assistance. Thanks for posting this captured video also.Steve Astorinowww.usmotorcycletouring.comsteve@usmotorcycletouring.com
