Sidecar Racers Assoc. West Saturday race at Portland International Raceway. Chasing down Johnny Killmore for 5th position. I get two laps into the race when the cam chain in my GSXR 1000 engine snaps at top speed in 6th gear with 12k RPM on the tach down the front straight with a loud BOOOM in the engine. I pull in the clutch right away and hammer the brakes getting off the racing line and off the track. We swapped in the spare motor that afternoon for Sundays PracticeRace.
