Bonjour très belle vidéo et bon son egalement. Une question quel logiciel utilisez vous pour le montage car avec le storyteller je n arrive pas à faire de découpage ni à mettre du son. Par avance merci
Hi Jerome and all,
Just noticed to my horror I got a word wrong and changed the tone & meaning of my last message - should have said I will 'now' enjoy watching your other films - and I did! Apologies.
Looks like you are based at the airfield not far from Albertville on the main road towards Chambrey? I've driven past it man times on the way to the ski resorts. Must plan a trip to fly down in 2012

Hi Jerome, fantastic film, just the thing to start my chill out weekend, even thought the weather is not looking good for flying in SW UK. I read the comments about the prop effects, I've just bought an NFlight Plus cam that is supposed to stop the prop 'artifacting' as it states in the sales pitch. Took my son up for a flight to test the cam last Saturday - and it doesn't work very well. It seem this my be down to the settings so I'll have a play. I'm not going to enjoy watching your other films. My 'poor' by comparison effort is (can't add the link)
Actually, to get rid of the strobing effect of the propeller you have to use a neutral density filter over the lens to slow down the "shutter speed" (not really a shutter.) The blades of the prop will blur because of the slower reactivity. Several aviation vendors - like NFlightCam - sell value added Contour camera kits that include what they call "Aviator Lens" which is really just a variable neutral density filter that replaces the glass and bezel on the front of the Contour. It rotates to vary the density.
Mocam,
Thank you for the link. Sorry, I was referring to the previous model and didn't see the new one. :o)
You're right, the new cam uses a lens that should avoid some reflections due to the blades. To avoid splited blades, you just have to set the original contour at 60 frames per second. So AV-ator at 60 frames per second should be great : no reflections, no splited blades.
A rotating flat surface mount was glued to the left fairing and the camera was secured by several turns of tape. The tape helps to reduce vibrations too.
Lacy, JK,
Thank you for your comments. My camera is a ContourGPS. Movies including propellers are just a nightmare. That's the reason why I use 60 frames per second settings (720P action) in order to avoid splited blades.
Stunning!! This is like visual therapy. Can you tell us which camera you were using and what settings you used? The footage is awesome. Thanks for sharing.
