SKIING
“I like contour because it’s so easy to use. By far my favorite POV camera wether I’m skiing or biking.”

1RECOMMENDED CAMERA

Before leaving for the slopes you want to make sure you are prepared.
Here’s our recommended camera:

When heading up and down the mountains having the ROAM3 fixed on the side of your head or mounted on a pole is the best way to capture the action. You will be able to get the best first person pov shots as well as filming yourself getting big air.

2BEING READY FOR THE SHOT/MOUNTS

Here are some recommended mounts:
PRIMARY MOUNTS
POLE MOUNT
There’s nothing better than a up close and personal vid/pic of someone doing something cool that you wouldn’t normally get to see from that perspective. The pole mount allows you to get the camera nice and close to the rider without getting in their way.

GOGGLE MOUNT
HELMET MOUNT
These mounts are all great ways to get the riders perspective. Chopping together an edit with a couple of these clips in-between your main shots captured with the pole mount will give it a much more interesting look and feel.

EXAMPLE
Try fixing either a helmet mount or profile mount to the side of your helmet. This will allow whoever is watching your edit to see what you see, same thing goes for the goggle mount it just depends if you are able to fit it due to either wearing a helmet or not. Safety on the slopes though! Another shot to try would be to be coming into a jump and then cutting away from that as the trick is done to the view of your buddy that has been filming you with the Pole Mount. I always recommend taking a buddy up there to help out, it’s fun to shoot as well as to be filmed.

OTHER TIPS
Attach the Surfboard Mount to the front or back of your board, or both! You can capture a completely different perspective of what’s going on. Be sure to use the laser level once its attached to see what angle your filming at, this will eradicate any missed shots due to the camera pointing down at the snow or up at the sky.

HOW?
Plug your camera into your computer using the same USB cord you charge it with. Once you’ve done this a window will pop up reading “CONTOUR Roam3″. This is where you view your clips.

Once you’ve sifted through and picked out your best clips it’s time to edit. Here are a few software recommendations:
