Ok took a pretty big crash on the bike and scratched the plastic/glass lens. Any way to replace it?
Does not seem to be very scratch resistant IMO.
But the unit survived the crash and still works great, this a tough little unit!!! :)
On a different note, been very impressed with quality of video. :)

i think i need one too??has some marks that i cant get off so now my vids look Foggy..like im riding in a dream...LOL!
Same here. Would love to be able to get a replacement lens glass as mine seems scratched under normal use.
Is it even glass? Mine feels/looks like plastic. And ditto on tons of scraches, I havn't even been in the woods that much so I don't know how I got scratches on it.
I'd be interested in purchasing some extra lenses as well.
I wonder if it's acrylic? If so, Xerapol should do a good job of polishing it. It's what's used on bike visors.
My Daughter has a swatch with an acrylic face. When she got a big scratch on it, I used *very* fine grit paper to get rid of the scratch and then Xerapol to get the face back from cloudy to clear. She was delighted!

I would like a replacement lens glass also. Mine is already showing signs of wear and I would like some backups.
me too.... maybe it's possible to buy a cheap polarized filter for DSLR camera and cut it...
Id also like to see replacement parts. Maybe we should make some peel off stickers too please. To clear the lens like I have for my goggles.

To VHoldR,
What is you r response to offering the community replacement lenses, and making yourself some money also?
I know you guys are good and don't want your community to have to pay for a whole other contour HD camera just to get a lens.
I and others will check this thread often for a response and to evaluate customer service.
Thanks so much for all so far.

We're currently reviewing the lenses and checking for harder coatings. I'll let you know what we can do as soon as I find out. Hang tight.

I haven't even used mine (outside of testing it by walking around and recording) and the lense is scratched. Can it be scratched from cleaning a finger print off it? I just got this thing yesterday.
What happens when you hit a tree branch at 30mph on a trail? That will really do a number on a soft lense.
How do I subscribe to a thread? Can you?
It would also have been nice to have the inside of the lense cover threaded so a filter could be used (mainly a cheap clear filter (glass) that would protect the lense).
I don't see this being too big of a deal for your R&D dept.
JeffroHome, it might be a big deal. Depending on the distance of the front glass from the lens the 140 degree wide angle might not allow even a thin filter from being attached to the front glass. If it does interfere with the angle of view the protective filter could cause some annoying vignetting of the video.
This is true, if they didn't re-engineer the same lense cover. I am sure they could go with a standard (larger) lense cover to allow screwable (lol) filters. Or if the lense cover was glass, I think there would be much less instances of scratching. Like I said, all I have done was wipe finger prints off mine with a paper towel and I have visible scratches (can't tell in recorded video however). I plan to take it on the trails here where I live (SE Ohio, Wayne National Forest) on my YZ tomorrow to get some footage.
It's just a wish list. I usually am one not to buy something when it first comes out, but I was disgusted with my gopro (resolution and audio) and sold it. I needed a replacement to catch all my crashes. :)
