CYCLING
“I ride Contour simply because they are easy to use. I wouldn’t find myself actually using any other POV camera because everything falls short of Contours sleek design, mounting and easy one slide on and record switch. You never have to worry about the battery going dead because the camera was on and not recording, or asking your buddy if it’s recording at the top of a line. Just slide it forward and you are good to go; even after weeks of sitting in your backpack. The last thing I want to be stressing over at the top of a line where I’m about to risk my life is if my camera is on.”

2BEING READY FOR THE SHOT/MOUNTS

You need and you want to capture your ride as best as possible. Now it’s time to rig these up to your bike and here are some great ways to do so.
PRIMARY MOUNTS
VENTED HELMET MOUNT
360° HELMET MOUNT
WHY?
With the Contour+2, you are able to use GPS to track your ride. In Storyteller, it will show you where you rode and how fast you were going. A first-person perspective is a perfect complement to GPS mode. And with your helmet mount recording everything you do, you will be sure not to miss a thing.

BAR MOUNT
WHY?
Well we all know bikes have handle bars and although your getting these great shots of what your seeing, you may want to capture some images of what you look like on that bad boy. By fitting the Bar mount as close to the centre of your handle bars as possible, you are now able to point it right back at your beautiful face. And not to worry, as when the camera is in 720 you have a nice 170* wide angle shot. The result being that the clips you capture shouldn’t get to up close and personal with you and whats inside your lycra suit, but rather give you a nice perspective from the front looking back at your whole profile and I’m guessing nice and brightly colored outfit.

FLEX STRAP MOUNT
This mount is a great way to get any other angles you may want to record during your ride. Easily strapped to the frame of your bike, you’ll be able to get a number of different angles without having to switch the bar mount’s attachment point. The flex strap mount is quick and easy to adjust and move.

3VIEWING YOUR MASTERPIECE/SOFTWARE

None of this is important if you can’t share your work.
contour+2
HOW?
You want to start off by downloading storyteller, a free program that makes viewing and editing your clips that much easier. This program is particularly good to use with the Contour+2 and great when involving extra data like what you may have collected while riding around using the gps mode. Open the newly downloaded free program called “storyteller” this should link right up with you camera if its plugged in. You will be able to view your clips and data right there.

Once you’ve sifted through and picked out your best clips its time to have a go at editing. If you’ve decided to view your clips without storyteller any video editing softwear can be used to put together a great edit with footage taken by Contour, obviously the more complex the program the better your footage will come across due to effects, but the harder it may be to get the result.
